Secure Sense of Self delivers evidence-based menstrual cycle education programs in schools, workplaces, sporting clubs and community settings.

Through understanding of the menstrual cycle, program participants build lifelong body literacy, confidence and trust in their bodies.

Why does it matter?

Why does it matter? 〰️

The menstrual cycle is one of the most significant biological processes many people will experience for around 35–40 years of their lives, yet it remains one of the least understood biological systems.

Improving body literacy means program participants:

  • understand how their bodies work;

  • develop bodily trust rather than fear;

  • recognise when something isn't right;

  • seek help earlier;

  • make informed decisions about their health;

  • carry this knowledge through adolescence, adulthood, pregnancy, birth, menopause and beyond;

  • and develop a positive relationship with the menstrual cycle and their personhood, strengthening confidence, self-awareness and trust in their bodies.

The ripple effects extend far beyond periods — education influences lifelong health, confidence and self-advocacy.
